Moving an affiliate program is mostly about one thing: the links your partners already posted. Blog posts, videos and newsletters keep sending visitors for years. Referalli's import brings each partner over with their code, coupons and balances, and keeps those old links crediting them.

What an import brings over

From the export

Becomes in Referalli

Partner email and name

A partner, enrolled in the program you import into. An email that already exists is reused, not duplicated.

Referral code (token, ref id, partner key)

A tracked link with the same code, so /go/{token}/{code} and ?via={code} work.

Coupon codes

Coupons for that partner. A coupon entered at checkout credits them.

Referral link

The page that link points at becomes the link's destination.

Unpaid and paid balances

Ledger lines tagged imported:<tool>. Unpaid balances are approved and ready to pay; paid ones are recorded as already paid.

Codes and coupons that another partner in your org already uses are skipped and listed in the result, so nobody's existing link is taken over.

Each tool puts the partner's code in its own query parameter, for example ?fpr=kai for FirstPromoter. After an import, the tracking script on your site also reads that parameter, so yoursite.com/?fpr=kai still credits Kai. You can see and edit the list under Settings → Referral link parameters.

Two things to do once, before you switch off the old tool:

  1. Install the Referalli tracking script on every page the old links point at. See Tracking setup.

  2. Check the parameter. If you customised the parameter in your old tool, add your custom name in Settings → Referral link parameters.

Run the import

  1. Export partners from your old tool (each guide below says where).

  2. Open Tools and choose the tool you're coming from.

  3. Pick the program to import into. Optionally set a default destination, used for partners whose export has no link.

  4. Run a dry run first. It reports how many partners, links and coupons would be created, and how much balance, without writing anything.

  5. Run the import.

From the API it's one call:

curl -X POST "$BASE/v1/import/firstpromoter?programId=prg_…&destinationUrl=https://yoursite.com/" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $KEY" -H "content-type: text/csv" --data-binary @partners.csv

Run the real import once. Partners are matched by email, but balances are added each time you run it. Use the dry run as often as you like.
