Create a program
Create a program and set its attribution model, windows, terms, status and tracking rules.
A program is one offer you run with partners, with its own attribution settings, commission rule and partners. You can run several programs in one organization. How many depends on your plan, which you can see on the Billing page.
Create the program
- Open Programs
In the left-hand menu, under Configure, select Programs.
- Fill in New program
Enter a Name, such as "Partner program". Then enter a Slug (lowercase, dashes), such as
partner-program. The slug can only use lowercase letters, numbers and dashes. - Create it
Select Create program. The program appears in the list with its model, window and status.
- Open the designer
Select designer next to the program to configure it.
New programs start as Active, with the Last click model and a 60-day click window. Change these in the designer.
Configure attribution
The Attribution card in the designer has these settings:
Attribution model decides which partner gets credit when a customer clicked more than one partner's link:
Last click: the most recent click wins.
First click: the earliest click wins.
Position based (40/20/40): the first and last clicks share most of the credit, and the clicks in between share the rest.
Time decay: more recent clicks get more credit.
Click window (days) is how long after a click a signup still counts. Use 1 to 730 days.
Signup → conversion window (days) is how long after signup a payment still earns commission. Use 1 to 1,095 days.
Terms (markdown; partners re-accept on change) are your program terms. Partners see them on your join page and in their portal settings. When you change them, partners are asked to accept the new version.
Status is Draft, Active, Paused or Archived. Partners can only join a program through its join page or the marketplace while it's Active.
Select Save program to apply your changes.
Tracking and attribution rules
The Tracking & attribution rules card in the designer holds five more settings. It opens with the program's saved values. Change any of them and select Save rules.
Device-fingerprint matches (no click id or cookie, matched by IP and browser) decides what happens when the only evidence is a matching IP address and browser:
Hold for review before they count (the default): the referral waits for you to approve it from its journey page, and earns nothing until you do.
Attribute automatically: the referral counts straight away.
Never attribute: no referral is created.
Split each commission across every partner who touched the customer, by credit weight shares each payment's commission between all the partners whose links the customer clicked, using the attribution model's weights. Off by default, so the winning partner gets it all.
Allow partners' paid-search ads (off: those clicks are scored as fraud) is on by default. Untick it if your terms forbid partners from bidding on search ads; their ad clicks are then filtered and don't count.
Require an invisible browser check before redirecting (stops headless click floods) makes partner links run a quick check in the visitor's browser before sending them on. Real visitors don't notice; automated click floods never get through. Off by default.
UTM parameters added to every redirect, one per line ({{code}} becomes the link code) adds tracking parameters to the destination when someone follows a partner link, for example
utm_source=partnerandutm_campaign={{code}}. Each line isname=value, and every name must start withutm_. Parameters already on the destination address are left alone.
The last three apply to partner links (the short links that go through Referalli), not to direct ?via= links.
Replay attribution
If you change the model or windows, select Replay attribution to recalculate this program's referrals with the new settings. A message shows how many referrals were recalculated and how many changed.
